DHL’s Facilities in Singapore Awarded Top Certification for Security Measures
All five DHL Express Service Centres TAPA ‘A’ Certified
DHL, the world's leading Express and Logistics company, recently received an ‘A’ certification by the Technology Asset Protection Association (TAPA) for all its Express facilities in Singapore, underscoring the company’s commitment to security and providing customers with the highest standards of service.
The latest facility to be certified is DHL Express’ East Service Centre and it joins four other Service Centres - the Airport Service Centre, the West Service Centre, North Service Centre and Central Service Centre- with TAPA ‘A’ certification. In addition, the DHL Singapore Hub is also TAPA ‘A’ certified.
Technology Asset Protection Association (TAPA) is a widely recognized independent and non-profit making industry association formed by high-tech manufacturers to promote higher security standards in the transportation of technology and high value products.
DHL has made substantial investments in security, and over the years has set the benchmark for security excellence in the air express industry. DHL has received "A" certified status for its major hubs and gateways in the region, including its three main hubs in Hong Kong, Singapore and Bangkok, and has led the industry by being the first company to receive TAPA certification in India, Korea, the Philippines and Shanghai.
The East Service Centre in Singapore brings DHL’s TAPA-certified premises, including Hubs, Logistics and Service Centres, to over 40 and represents the highest number of TAPA certified facilities in the industry in the Asia Pacific region.
“Security has become a very important concern for customers and increasingly many are looking for logistics providers who are TAPA certified,” said Ms Yasmin Aladad Khan, General Manager, DHL Express Singapore. “DHL is never complacent in the area of security and in order to protect our customers' assets, we always anticipate and resolve new threats as they arise.”
Security of shipments is a core competence of DHL’s business and the TAPA certification provides customers with even more assurance that their shipments will arrive in good order at their destinations. This is especially important as increasing numbers of Asian manufacturers have taken on the production of high value products for export. DHL’s team of dedicated security managers ensures the highest levels of security are maintained at all facilities and at all times with the help of the latest security technology and equipment.
"The certification underscores our commitment to continually enhance our security standards,” said Ms Khan. “Over the years, we have been able to continuously raise the bar by pioneering tailored security solutions for our customers to meet their specific business needs. This capability clearly sets us apart from our competitors in the region.”
